Gayle Cooke is an asset worth keeping. We decided to “age in place” which meant a lot of stuff had to go. We were combining two households (both widowed with grown children) into his house of over thirty years which had served as the family depository as parents died, children moved out, and his wife passed.  As the “project manager” I was overwhelmed and struggling for several years, never getting ahead of the stuff. Gayle has made all the difference.

She is non-judgmental, nurturing to the emotional roller coaster of downsizing, and merciless with stuff. She works fast while allowing us to work at our physical and emotional pace. She has an uncanny ability to clarify the reason we were holding onto things and once the decisions were made she rapidly packed up the donations, got rid of the trash, and organized the rest.

We still have a way to go and I look forward to working with her in the future. I would be happy to speak with you personally. Gayle has my contact information.

from client

This letter is to introduce you to Ms. Gayle Cooke-with whom I was pleased to work during our recent move to the Springmoor Life Retirement Community in northwest Raleigh.

We were leaving our four-bedroom home where we had lived for 22 years and were downsizing its contents to fit in a two-bedroom apartment. This move called for a lot of help in deciding which furnishings and valuables (to us) to eliminate and which to take with us. Gayle was such a help to us, patiently helping us to review the multitude of belongings that two people collect over their married lives in a single dwelling. Gayle helped us sort through the contents of cabinets and closets, gently reminding us of the limited space we would have in the new apartment.

Gayle was a joy to work with; competent and dependable and going the extra mile so to speak, to make the job go well. She is a very likable person; honest and easy to work with.

Gayle Cooke of Triangle Senior Moving Services assisted us in our move from a house to a retirement community. She was very well organized. She created a floor plan of our new place and helped us determine where our furniture was going to fit. The packing went smoothly but due to bad weather, we could not move on our scheduled day. Gayle arranged a new day for our move. We moved on that day. Gayle and her team had everything unpacked and set up so that we could sleep in our new home that night. TSMS did a great job. A few days later a team member came and hung our pictures and got us fully settled.

Gayle did an amazing job and I would highly recommend her.

from the daughter of a client

Gayle was hired by my mother and step-father (Betty and Don) to pare down their belongings and help them move into Waltonwood.  They had only been married for seven years and still had all their own things from living separately and had a house full of furniture and artwork.  To say the task of paring things down to move into a small apartment was daunting is an understatement.  Being related to only one of them and a working mother, I was not sure how we were ever going to make this move happen.  A little dose of magic was needed.

Waltonwood referred Betty and Don to Gayle, and it was just the magic we needed.  She spent hours with them going through kitchen cupboards, furniture, clothes and tools in the garage.  She put together a floor plan, so they could clearly see what furniture she suggested they take and where it would be placed in the new apartment.  She was able to get them to set aside only the things that they truly needed or meant something to them.  Not only was this a relief to me, it was also a relief to them as it was calm and methodical, something I could not have pulled off on my own.

On moving day, Betty and Don got in their car and had a day of lunch out and a trip to Trader Joes for wine and snacks for their new place.  Gayle oversaw the movers loading up the truck (mind you, she had already packed up all their boxes and had them labeled so well, anyone would have known where they belonged) and then met them all at Waltonwood to get them settled for their first night.  By dinner time, there were only a few unpacked boxes remaining and their bed was made.  Gayle then ran the estate sale at their house over the next two days and took care of donations of anything left over after the sale.  Betty and Don were blissfully unaware of all the moving parts during these days and were able to simply focus on getting to know their new home.

Moving out of your house and into a senior living facility comes with so much emotion and stress.  Gayle was organized and very patient with Betty and Don.  I would definitely recommend her to anyone contemplating this type of move.  If you wish to have a conversation, Gayle has my permission to provide my phone number.
